Reading Round Robin

Tonight we were all sitting down with our scriptures and I was calling on a different child for each verse. This was a different approach than usual. I figured that we would all have to follow along better to keep our spots. Eventually, Ben, as often happens, read past his verse and continued on to read three. Then Jimmy jumped in without being called on and read a verse, then Corissa, then Annie, and even Noah joined in. Without organization or order, at the end of a verse, another child would pick up and jump in. It was spontaneous scripture sharing and it was amazing. Usually we read about ten verses and try to keep the kids involved in a discussion about what we read. Tonight the kids brought their own enthusiasm and continued for two chapters. Tonight I am so grateful to have been a part of it.

(BTW, Quinn, the two chapters were more than ten verses :)

For our scripture study I tie all the kids to the bed posts and put duct tape over thier mouths. Then I read Matthew 23:33 and 2 Nephi 28:23. After scripture study I tell them I love them and send them to bed.

Heidi,
I misspeled 'their' on purpose: 1) to give you cause to leave a comment and 2)to make Niesha feel better.

11?

BTW -my online name is q-dawg. I don't want to be restricted by moral standards which bind one's freedom of expression when making comments nonymously. (I figured if the letter 'a' makes words mean the opposite then I could take off the 'a' and it would mean what I wanted it to mean--clever, huh?)

Niesh...that would have been fun to be a part of. I would have enjoyed hearing your kids thoughts.

Lala, I am sorry that I am just too busy sewing and mixing potions and writing inscriptions to visit everyone's blog every day. But some things are just more important. My kids read scriptures to me. "Please Mom, will you come and listen? It's only ten chapters long."
Hehe

It's been over a month since your last blog. Hasn't anything eventful happened? Perhaps you have some great experiences to share from your visit to your favorite brother.
